Rick Scott, Water Management Authorities, please look at Blue Springs on a July Saturday. Maybe you want to be thinking: “perhaps we should follow our water laws a little closer because people like the water…” Yes, good idea.
Walter B., winner of the hat contest. Walter is a winner, and a loyal worker for the Santa Fe. We need more like him.
Events planner Sandy Hubbard sent the following debriefing from the latest OSFR Paddle Club outing.
OSFR welcomed guests from Adventure Club of Gainesville on our July Santa Fe Paddle. We had fifteen boats…a record number. I wouldn’t be surprised if the river itself had a record number of folks paddling, tubing, snorkeling, just standing in the water. It was a good hot day for all of that.
Jesse, runner-up in the contest. She too, is a winner.
We thank OSFR President Pamela Smith and Lance Scott for sharing their lovely shaded picnic table and inviting us to stop for a swim. The best hat contest has a winner and a runner-up this time. Walter Bickmeyer (who was asked to hold my hat), first place, and Jessie, from ACG, second.
I will plan the August paddle soon, so stay tuned. And paddle on.
Sandy

-A river is like a life: once taken, it cannot be brought back-
Our Santa Fe River, Inc is a Florida not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization composed of concerned citizens working to protect the waters and lands supporting the aquifer, springs and rivers within the watershed of the Santa Fe River. We do this by promoting public awareness pertaining to the ecology, quality, and quantity of the waters and lands immediately adjacent to and supporting the Santa Fe River, including its springs and underlying aquifer.
