I have developed a fascination for the section of the river above Poe and the crystal blue springs. My fascination is with the darker waters between Poe and River Rise and up the other side of the land bridge from O’Leno to the confluences of the Olustee, Worthington Springs and and the New River.
This particular section is at the High Springs Boat Ramp off of 441. I love the sound the water makes as it rushes through the riverbed. There is often a great selection of birds in the early morning and late evening. Otters play throughout the area. I go here to get solace when I need to feel connected to our Santa Fe River.
