We look forward to seeing you in just TWO WEEKS at the 2025 Springs Summit on February 8 at Stetson Law School in Gulfport, Florida!

Our sessions include:

  • Welcome and Keynote
  • Springs Perspectives: A wide-ranging and frank discussion about how Florida’s springs ended up in their current condition, with legends and founders of the springs conservation movement.
  • “Madcaps Spectacular” live podcast recording: This session will be a live podcast recording featuring two great podcast hosts from two of our favorite Florida podcasts!
  • Deep Dive into ’25: Seasoned advocates and policy experts will give a detailed preview of key rulemaking and legislation related to Florida’s springs, including Basin Management Action Plans, Minimum Flows & Levels, protection of State Parks and Conservation Lands, and Ocklawaha Restoration.
  • Advocacy: Behind the curtain of Florida’s legislative process – An insider’s look at how Floridians can most effectively lobby our state legislature.
  • Communicating for Change: Harnessing political pressure and public engagement with good communication strategy. We’ll discuss how the springs conservation movement can use proven concepts to create communication strategies that move people from awareness to action and create the changes we need to protect Florida’s springs.
  • Springs Counsel: Options, opportunities and legal strategies for protecting springs in the courtroom – Our panel will highlight recent and ongoing outstanding public interest legal advocacy around Florida’s springs and waters. This Session will include both state and federal legal matters touching on water quality, springs flow, best management practices, state assumption of federal permitting, and phosphate mining. Presentations will be followed by expert panels including some of the brightest minds in Florida’s legal community.
  • Reflections: Closing discussion – After a full day of insights from our presenters and panelists, it’s time to hear from you. The final session of the day invites participants to ask lingering questions, bring new ideas to the table, and share final thoughts through our online system for discussion.
  • BANYAN BASH: Awards and social hour with First Magnitude Brewing beer, Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer options, and appetizers.

When you arrive:

Check in will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the Summit will begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. The event will end at 5 p.m., and then we invite you to stay and join us for a Banyan Bash after-party. Please note the changes in time from our last email: We’re kicking off our Welcome & Keynote Session 15 minutes earlier, and we’ll be starting our Banyan Bash earlier before it gets dark!

The Springs Summit will take place in the Mann Lounge, Great Hall and Trophy Room at Stetson Law School (1401 61st St S, Gulfport, FL 33707).
