A 1st magnitude spring, River Rise is a resurgent spring with unique characteristics. It marks the resurgence of the Santa Fe River after disappearing at O’Leno. Identified by Florida Statute as an Outstanding Florida Spring OFS. The Hornsby Springshed is currently impaired for it’s elevated nitrate levels and in ‘recovery’ for it’s reduced flow.

This Springshed includes six springs : River Rise, Treehouse Spring, Col428981, Darby Spring, Hornsby Spring , and Columbia Springs.
