OSFR Announces Change in Leadership
July 6, 2022
At a special board meeting this month, Our Santa Fe River (OSFR) formalized a change within its Board of Directors. Kristin Rubin has formally resigned from both the organization’s Board of Directors and as President for personal reasons. Kristin successfully led OSFR as President from June 2021 to June 2022 and plans to stay active in various North Central Florida environmental causes. We thank Kristin for her service to OSFR and will certainly miss her industriousness and dedication to the long-term ecological health of the Santa Fe River.
Terry Phelan was named Interim President per the organization’s bylaws, and will serve in that role while nominations for president are received over the next 90 days. Additionally, OSFR’s board approved Patty Street as Interim Vice President. OSFR will vote on a new president and vice president after the 90-day period and make an announcement on our website and through our social media channels. “I am pleased to honor and keep the organization flowing, per our bylaws, until we find a permanent president,” said Phelan.
In addition, OSFR will continue to consider interested and qualified inquiries to fill its three open board vacancies and nominations can be made online at: https://osfr.org//how-can-i-help/board-of-directors-nominee-candidatequestionnaire/.
As many in our community have heard and as we as an organization continue to grieve, a board vacancy became available after the tragic death of Rhonda Long who had long been a passionate voice for the Santa Fe River. OSFR’s Board of Directors will announce how it plans to memorialize Rhonda’s vast contributions to both our organization and the Santa Fe River community.
