One of the most popular RiverFest activities still retains its magic as we see the 2022 event took place on March 19, 2022. About a dozen eager participants met at the small park at the Hwy 47 bridge on the Gilchrist side and were led by Dr. Colette Jacono, botanist and plant ecologist specializing in aquatic and wetland plants in Florida.
Dr. Jacono believes that only through understanding and recognition of the ecosystem services provided by the Suwannee River in its entirety, can preservation of the Santa Fe be fully attained.
