Attached please find the link to our north Florida dairies report. This report was prepared by the Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute and describes CAFO and non-CAFO dairies in the North Florida Springs Region, centered on the Suwannee River Basin. Based on a review of permit and other published data, we have compiled an independent estimate of individual and collective dairy nitrogen loads to the Floridan Aquifer System and adjacent springs. This analysis indicates that the nitrogen load reaching the region’s springs from dairies may be significantly higher than estimated by FDEP in their 2025 Suwannee BMAP plan.

Congratulations to the FSI for producing this study.  It provides further proof  that the FDEP is insincere in protecting our springs and rivers as shown by the excessive number of permits for CAFOs and the  misinformation regarding the nitrogen load.

Here is a link to this revealing report.
