Through the years no one individual has worked harder nor achieved more to protect the Santa Fe River, the springs and aquifer of North Florida than Dr. Robert Knight. He has done this with his books, lectures and scientific papers.

Bob has confronted the State scientists with their cheating and flawed work, done to hide facts in order for the biased water management districts to find more water and damage the rivers more to help water users and abusers. I have seen him do this publicly at water management meetings, MFL meetings, DEP meetings and also in private meetings with water district scientists.
Most of the water conservation advocates may be passionate but are not scientists and cannot point out bad science, a fact that DEP and WMD staff know and take advantage of. Bob spots it in a heartbeat and throws it in their face and they have no answers.
Bob has done the work which the State should have done, and his good work will continue with his creation, the Florida Springs Institute which is thriving.
We can’t thank Bob enough for all his contributions. He has been an OSFR advisor for many years and is always ready to generously share his knowledge and experience.
And we enthusiastically welcome Dr. Emily Taylor to FSI and our community!
