Jody Boas, Executive Director of OSFR has sent the following letter. This a very important issue, so please help us if you can.
OSFR has long been supportive of protection for this window into the aquifer.

We need help from our members to protect our river from overdevelopment!
Mill Creek Sink in Alachua contributes flow to the Santa Fe River. Overdevelopment is threatening to disrupt this source. Three senior city planners in the City of Alachua resigned in the middle of reviewing massive Tara developments near Mill Creek Sink, our direct connection to the aquifer and springs. The City Commission has stalled on investigating why. Public trust, accountability, and the protection of Mill Creek Sink are on the line.
Please add your name to this petition calling on the City Commission to investigate the planner resignations. https://chng.it/yrnnbqV9Cs
When you sign, you’re standing up for transparency and for protecting the water that runs from Mill Creek Sink to our homes and springs. Please also share the petition with your neighbors and friends. Every signature shows our leaders that the community is watching.
Please check the ouralachuawater.org website. There you can:
