Our first action alert for the 2026 Legislative Session 🤯 Yep, you read that right—This is a 2026 Legislative Session action alert! While 2025 isn’t over just yet, our legislators are already back in Tallahassee for Interim Committee Weeks working on bills for the 2026 Legislative Session.

One of FSC’s priority bills, Senate Bill 240: Auxiliary Containers by Senator Garcia, is already being voted on by the Senate Environment and Natural Resources committee on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 3:30 p.m.

We need you to use your voice today to protect home rule and keep trash out of our waterways. Click the button below to send a pre-written email to the committee members today asking them to vote yes on SB 240.

SB 240 will allow local governments to regulate glass, polystyrene, and single-use plastic containers on public property while also prohibiting the sale or distribution of certain single-use containers in State Parks. For the last two years, springs advocates have fought tirelessly to defeat industry-backed Auxiliary Container bills that would have eliminated local regulations of single-use containers. SB 240 is the solution we’ve been needing to protect home rule, provide guidance for local communities, and safeguard rules already in place. Let’s put this battle to rest!
