With ideal cool weather, over fifty people turned out to hear readers from the book The Wilder Heart of Florida and OSFR headquarters at Rum 138 on Thursday evening.
Of the many authors in the book collection, writer Lu Merritt, artist Margaret Ross Tolbert, nature guide Lars Andersen and Professor Leslie K. Poole were present and read excerpts from their contributions. OSFR board member Merrillee Malwitz-Jipson gave introductions and comments.
Thanks go to these authors and especially to board member David Vaina who founded and organized this literary event. OSFR President Kristin Rubin and board members Terry Phelan, Bill Basta and Rhonda Long assisted in the books signings and sales. Special thanks to board member Cindy Noel who donated her good cooking skills to the cause and ran the kitchen singlehandedly producing delicious food.
A big thank you also goes to Merrillee and Doug Jipson for hosting this event at their fine facilities at Rum 138.
