The lower Santa Fe has some amazing features. Besides the precious springs like Poe, Lilly, Rum, Gilchrist Blue, the Ginnie Complex, July, Sawdust and various mid-river springs and fissures, there are cool hidden coves like this one at Little Awesome Preserve. We will be visiting this one, if we can find it, on our paddle on September 29th.
Throughout the summer we have been exploring different sections of the river from the Upper Santa Fe above O’Leno down to the confluence of the Suwannee. We go to learn about this fabulous treasure in order to be better advocates for it’s protection.
