Update from Our Santa Fe River

Here is an update of what we have been doing this month.

Meet and Greet, S.Younger, 9.10.24
Meet and Greet, S.Younger, 9.10.24

On September 8th we co-hosted a Water Protectors Meet and Greet with SSJ Sierra at Ichetucknee State Park on September 8th. We networked with representatives from SSJ Sierra Club, WWALS Suwannee Riverkeeper,  Florida Springs Council, Florida Springs Institute , Current Problems, Alachua County Manatee Sighting Network, Ichetucknee Alliance, Florida’s Right to Clean Water, and Our Alachua Water.

How YOU can help:

We have an Immediate need for a coordinator and volunteers to collect signatures for the Florida Right to Clean Water at polling locations on election day. I have a box full of petitions. Email me if you are interested in helping. We need pairs up work the most populous polling locations.

Keep a close watch on developments with Our Alachua Water. Quickly changing agendas are being monitored and volunteers are needed to FILL UP THE ROOM at Alachua City Hall. You do not need a FB account to see their posts.

Save the Dates:

  • OSFR will be resuming tabling in October with Petty Fest Oct 11-12, Bat Fest Oct 26, and Grateful Fall Boogie on Nov 16. Email Jodi.Boas@oursantaferiver.org for more information.
  • Board Meeting on September 25 at Rum 138, 6 pm. Let me know if you want the remote meeting option. Also, we can use one more board member, and you know you want to pitch-in!
  • We have a new paddle scheduled for the 29th. A paddle and river clean-up along the spring studded section of the river. Our last paddle was great fun, we had new and repeat paddlers.

Thank you for caring,
