Former Republican Florida legislator Paula Dockery wrote of Amendment 1, “Instead of promoting choice, it limits it. Instead of allowing competition, it suppresses it. Instead of helping small businesses, it requires more regulation.” People need encouragement to invest in solar power, not problems from utility companies. If we accept Amendment 1, there will be no incentive to switch to sustainable energy. So vote “non” in November and see how Florida can increase its use of solar power.
